Casting Valves

These valves are designed from metal in liquid form, poured into various molds, and once it cools and solidifies, it is detached or ejected from the mold.
With this technique it is possible to create valves with complex shapes, models and dimensions as the molds can be of infinite shapes and sizes, offering great freedom of realization even for the most complex parts.
Casting valves are also an excellent economic solution because:
I can use multiple types of metals and alloys
Casting helps reduce machining costs, especially when creating valves of complex shapes, compared to the forging technique.
Production times are shorter
Generally, the pressure levels of cast valves are relatively low (such as PN16, PN25, PN40, but there are also high pressure ones, which can reach 1500Lb and 2500Lb), and most of the gauges are above DN50.
Let’s analyze the steps of making the casting valves:
1. The liquid metal casting is poured into a mold.
2. After cooling, solidification and cleaning, a (raw) casting with predetermined shape, size and performance is obtained.

Types of fusion
1. Ordinary sand casting (including wet, dry and chemical hardening sand).

Details of the casting process
1) We prepare the casting molds (containers that transform the liquid metal into solid castings) which can be divided into: sand molds, metal molds, ceramic molds, clay molds, graphite molds, and many others. They can be disposable or semi-permanent, depending on the number of times they are used.
2) Cast metals and alloys mainly include cast iron, cast steel and cast non-ferrous alloys.
