Valve connection type
Valves help keep high pressure contained and keep your work area safe. By choosing the wrong valve connection types can result in danger. Pipes and valve connections are of very much importance. The connection work is carried out carefully so as not to cause damage and leak after connecting the valve. A valve is not operated if it is not connected to the pipe. It helps in forming the pipeline system.
Como as válvulas são conectadas?
Valves are sometimes classified according to the end connection configurations. Three basic configurations are explained here by threaded connection, welded connections and flanged connections. To maximize your safety, users must familiarize themselves with different connection types that are available:
1. Roscada
Threaded valve end connections are very common in low pressure and in piping systems. These are easy and quick to assemble. They form very tight and good connections between valves and pipes. There are valves that are male and female threaded connections. There are more few standards that exist. The valves and pipes both are created using the same standard to make the proper connection.
2. Flangeada
A maioria das conexões de extremidade flangeadas são muito úteis para os padrões industriais. Esses tipos de padrões definem os critérios específicos atendidos para facilitar o uso do produto.
3. Soldada
This type of valve simply has the socket with its inner diameter. It is slightly larger than the pipe’s outer diameter. These are also called socket welds. These are usually reserved for smaller sizes. They are permanent connections and they are leak free as well. Heat sink fins should be used more to protect seals during welding. There are 2 main types of welded connections:
4. Com solda de topo (butt weld)
In this welding connection the pipe and the valve ends are butted. They are butted to each other and then they are welded to create a link. These butt weld connections are very common with steel valves. They are ideal for all types of valves due to size.
5. Socket weld
The welded end of the valve is shaped into the socket. The pipe is inserted for welding. The connection uses filet welds so that it is linked into 2 components.
6. Comprimidor
This type of connection is found mainly on water lines in plumbing. They don’t need heat like other valve end connection needs. The connection uses two pieces in addition to the pipe and valve. They are the ferrule and compression nut.
7. Montagem em manifold
Manifold mount valve end connections incorporate the flat face with o rings around the ports. The ports on the valve are aligned with the ports on the components. Bolts are used to hold the valve in place of the mating surface on which it is mounted.
8. União
Union connections have the threaded nut that is needed for a male valve end connection. Mostly union connections need another type like glue, welded, threaded onto the valves. Once installed union connections can easily be removed from the pipes that are using this type connection.
